Melissa Mazzarino

Melissa has obtained a Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery and a Masters in Clinical Midwifery. Melissa has been a registered midwife for 10 years and has enjoyed working in a variety of settings including public and private hospitals as well as community health centres. She was the recipient of the 2007 Australian Nursing Federation Irving Buzzard Midwifery Prize for theoretical and clinical excellence. Along with her hospital clinical role, Melissa is a passionate university lecturer and has embarked on a PhD investigating exercise and pregnancy. Melissa is also a certified Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner and is passionate about using movement to promote body awareness for confident laboring and birth and supporting women’s physical, emotional and social transition to motherhood.
